Payments,
contracts and agreement for work to be done
It is recommended that any work done on your property over $100 be clearly
defined in the form of a written contract or agreement.
This document stating exactly:
- What will be done,
- When it will be started and completed,
- Total amount of monies that will be owed upon completion, and
- A breakdown of all charges.
Charges that are not clearly
stated and understood in advance allow for additional charges to be fraudulently
added in.
Proposals from several companies
will provide clues to fair pricing for estimated work. Selecting the least
expensive proposal often results in poor quality workmanship and shoddy
materials.

the Wrong Contractor

Here
are a few things to ask the contractor before making your decision
- Are you and your workers
covered by Workman's Compensation?
- Do you hold a current contractors
license?
- Do you have a guarantee
policy? What is it?
- Have you done work for any
of my neighbors?
-A Few Questions to Ask Yourself
- Is this someone you feel
comfortable having around your home?
